Linsanity Heads To Miami To See The King
Thursday night The New York Knicks and star point guard Jeremy Lin will take center stage in Miami against the NBA leading Miami Heat. But if you want to see “Linsanity” take his talents to “South Beach” it is going to cost you a pretty penny. Ticket brokers are currently charging an average price of $600 a seat and around $8000 for court side.
Entering Wednesday’s game against Atlanta at Madison Square Garden, New York, now suddenly a strong playoff hopeful after a dreadful start, is 8-2 with Lin in the rotation. He has been averaging 24.6 points and 9.2 assists in that stretch.
It should be a star packed night in Miami with many celebrities expected to flock to South Beach in droves. Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Knicks super fan Spike Lee are almost certain to be court side. There are even rumors that former President Bill Clinton, who watched the Heat beat Orlando on Sunday, and President Barack Obama will be in attendance.
Miami will bring a seven-game winning streak and a 26-7 record into the game – both of those marks the best in the league. Each of Miami’s wins during that streak have come by at least 12 points, and the Heat have won 17 of their last 20 games overall. We all have to remember that the Knicks are 16-17 entering Wednesday, so this could be the first blowout loss of young Jeremy Lin’s career.
