Pistons legend Isiah Thomas, was fired by Florida International University.  Thomas became coach of the Panthers in 2009 after being reassigned by the Knicks following 2007’s costly sexual harassment settlement with former employee Anucha Browne Sanders. He briefly served as New York’s “consultant” but was banned from having contact with players as part of an agreement with his successor Donnie Walsh.

Since making his debut at FIU, Thomas guided the Panthers to a 26-65 record over three seasons.

Obviously, Thomas’ firing will fuel ongoing rumors that he is still involved with the Knicks basketball operations.

Could former Knicks president and coach Isiah Tomas be making his way back to Madison Square Garden?

Considering the bad hands that he keeps getting dealt, hopefully he finds something that he can stick to. Maybe – just maybe – he should start focusing his efforts on areas outside of basketball.  He can still do a lot of good in the world off the court.
