We wanted to share this great article from the Wall Street Journal today discussing Governor Chris Christie and sports betting in New Jersey. You can read the full article here: Time to do away with sports betting stigma

Here are our thoughts on the article:

It is just simply time to grow up and understand that if free Americans want to plop down $100 on their favorite team, we should be allowed to do so. Yes, we understand the fears of the NFL and other professional leagues face with gambling, but newsflash, people are betting anyway.

Did you know one of the NFL founding owners, Tim Mara, was a bookmaker?

Let’s also factor in that the current U.S. economy is in the tank, yet 99% of all sports betting is unregulated and untaxed. Has making betting illegal stopped the activity? No it has not. Sports betting  should be made legal and taxed to generate some much needed revenue that would help re-build our roads, infrastructure, and improve schools.

What are your thoughts out there on the legalization of sports betting? We would love to hear your thoughts.

I agree with you guys – is is time for Uncle Sam, or other gov’t bodies, to stop “saving” us from ourselves.

Legalize it, create jobs, tax it, whatever. Billions of dollars every year are going underground or overseas via sports wagering.
