New York Jets’ Tim Tebow: Second Highest Selling Jersey in NFL Over the Past Two Months
Search for Sports Apps! New York Jets backup quarterback Tim Tebow sells. Argue his ability to play the quarterback position, tear apart his throwing mechanics, do and say what you will. Tim Tebow can motivate the masses, especially when it comes to buying jerseys and tickets. According to Joanna Hunter, Tim Tebow has the second best selling jersey in the NFL the past two months, just behind Peyton Manning.
He may be the backup quarterback, punt protector and wildcat operator, but Tim Tebow is second on the list of highest-selling NFL jerseys since April 1st. The only player ahead of him? The man who pushed him out as the starting quarterback of the Denver Broncos, Peyton Manning.
The Top Five sellers according to Joanna Hunter from the NFL’s PR department:
- Peyton Manning
- Tim Tebow
- Robert Griffin III
- Andrew Luck
- Eli Manning
It’s an interesting list. All five players are quarterbacks, it’s no surprise that the elder Manning beat out Tebow as many Broncos fans had to run out and replace their Tebow jerseys with a Manning one, while not as many New York Jets fans traded in their Mark Sanchez jerseys for a green and white Tebow jersey.
It does speak to the power of Tim Tebow to captivate people that he beat out the top two selections in the 2012 NFL Draft(Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III), players expected to be the faces of their respective franchises over the next 10+ seasons, despite the fact that Tebow will not be the starting quarterback for the Jets.
Get ready to see a lot of Tim Tebow jerseys in the stands at MetLife Stadium. Did you or will you buy a Tim Tebow jersey?
