pete rose is a very big one! as well are ron artest(meta world peace), tiger woods, etc. It must have been very difficult to pick the top 5, but some of these were extremely interesting and surprising to me!!! especially harding, what a freak!

It’s interesting how you’ve neglected to mention one of the more consequential events in sports history – regardless of direct media coverage at the time and the perception of such an individual (because of his accomplishments). Pete Rose’s betting scandal, by definition, should be included in the top 5.

i agree #’s 1, 3, and 5 are the worst to me…especially if the NBA really tells its referees to prolong series…that has a complete effect on the NBA champion!!!
