Rob Gronkowski and Patriots Make a Deal
Search for Sports Apps! The Patriots selected Rob Gronkowski in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft. After two seasons, 132 receptions, 1,873 yards and 27 touchdowns, Gronkowski is considered one of the the league’s best young tight ends (to most people, anyway). And New England agrees … we think.
ProFootballTalk.com reports that the Patriots have reached an agreement that would replace the final two years of Gronk’s rookie deal that was set to pay him $540,000 in 2012 and $575,000 in 2013. CBSSports.com’s Jason La Canfora reports that a deal could be announced as soon as Friday, writing that a contract “is very close to completion and the extension would stretch beyond his current deal.”
