The running of the Olympic torch has, over the years, been plagued by a variety of incidents including human rights protests in Beijing in 2008.

This year’s run has also been interesting, the torch having previously survived a streaking protester prior to being rowed down the Thames River and having gone out on more than one occasion, including being doused on a whitewater-rafting segment.

The latest incident occurred Friday when a teen attempted to steal the torch as it was being carried through the town of  Gravesend, Kent.  The teen was quickly subdued by security and later arrested by local police.

Let’s hope this guy’s “15 minutes” remains at just a few seconds.

The torch is due to end its 8000 mile journey and arrive in London on Friday for the 2012 opening Olympic ceremonies.
