Dwight Howard and The Lakers – Is The Timing Right?
Search for Sports Apps! Will Dwight Howard be with the Lakers after this year? Will the Lakers reach the NBA Finals, or win it all, with Howard? Time and a lot of sweat will tell.
One thing that appears to be true – the Lakers got Howard at the right time in his career(back injury notwithstanding).
Here, courtesy of Business Insider, is a chart showing the “Win Shares”(measures of a player’s all-around production and contribution to team wins) of Howard, Kevin Garnett and Shaquille O’Neal, 3 of the premiere contemporary big men of the NBA, as they have aged.
Garnett and O’Neal’s lines are amazingly similar, peaking at age 27 before dropping off. Will Howard follow suit? We’ll see, but based on this evidence, the Lakers seemingly will get the best of Dwight Howard – at least for now, possibly for several more years to come.
