A Very Special Tribute to Junior Seau As Chargers Retire Number 55

Prior to yesterday’s game, the San Diego Chargers retired number “55″ in honor of linebacker Junior Seau, long-time Charger great and 10-time All-Pro who died of self-inflicted gunshot wounds early last May. His is only the 3rd numbere ever retired by the Chargers , the others being Lance Alworth and Dan Fouts.
Chargers players wore helmet decals in tribute and defensive end Antonio Garay went one step further, showing off a fantastic haircut as a special tribute to Seau. He had Seau’s face and number shaved and colored into the back of his head for this week’s home game.
Garay is known for various unusual hair, and facial hair, designs(see below) – but this one is truly special.
Unfortunately, Garay was inactive for Sunday’s game, but his teammates completed the day by crushing the Tennessee Titans 38-10.
