Search for Sports Apps! Yesterday, the Detroit Tigers’ Miguel Cabrera became the first player to win Baseball’s Triple Crown in 45 years (previous winner was Carl Yastrzemski with the Boston Red Sox in 1967). Miguel led the American League in home runs (44), batting average (.330) and RBI (139).
He is also considered a, if not the, leading candidate to win the A.L. Most Valuable Player award, announced next month.
Cabrera was pulled from last night’s game in Kansas City in the fourth inning and received a much deserved standing O.
